The half day picnic rides to Headley and Mickleham have proved a popular activity and a chance to explore further afield. A stop for lunch at Ali's caravan, is a welcome break for the riders to stretch their legs and gives the horses and ponies a rest and some grass.

We are using the Blue Cross "All About Pets" free leaflets for our Stable Management sessions on the Kids Club afternoon on the first Saturday of each month to help give them a sound basic knowledge in equine care. Each session has a certificate to give to the children. They also had a go at painting a skeleton on Matilda who stood patiently! Here's the result!
For the adults we have orgainised some Pilates clinics with Sonia Fittspatrick who is a Chartered Physiotherapist, Pilates & Riding Instructor.
There is no doubt that man and horse have a special affinity, unfortunately our bodies are not designed with this relationship in mind! With riding, as with all other sports, good technique is crucial to success, but also to the prevention of injury or strain. Our ability to ride not only relies on good technique, but on good posture on and off the horse!
This clinic identifies postural faults which affect riding position and technique and then provides methods to improve them. Pilates exercises will help to correct postural problems which affect your riding, strengthen the areas which are weak and stretch the muscles which are tight. Using the Pilates principals in riding can dramatically improve your seat, your technique, and your performance.

CLEAR ROUND JUMPING starting 18.00 and will be on the first Tuesday of each month until April - September. We have purchased a new set of BSJA showjumps to give a more up-market and differnet look. We now have enough jumps to set up two different courses, so come and have a go. Own horse welcome. Just give us a call and let us know if you are coming. On one of our horses the cost is £20 for horse/pony hire + £5 per round. Rosettes for all clears!
